Hyperdot.net, the main page was officially closed on February 12, 2008, after almost six years of activity. While the main page has closed, both Emily and Matt's personal pages can be found by clicking on the icons above.
Hyperdot.net was established on April 8, 2002, with a mission to provide a virtual outlet for communication between the Hyperdotters. Well, this was partly the reason. Those who bought into the Hyperdot website simply wanted to break free from the torturous advertising programs from Geocities, Tripod, and other now undesirable webspaces.
Hyperdot was a gathering of close friends from Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy in Markham, Ontario, Canada. We felt that Hyperdot would be a good way to stay in touch and feel connected with one another outside the confines of the high school institution. As many of us stepped into University and into bigger, better, and greener pastures in September 2002, Hyperdot adapted to help each one of us to connect with one another, given the obstacles of geography.
The founding members of Hyperdot include: Chris, Emily, Eric, Leo J., Leo N., and Matt and have access to webspage on hyperdot.net's subdomains. In addition to hyperdot.net's founding members, it also has 18 subsidiary members; these members have access to post messages and blog entries on hyperdot.net about whatever was on their mind.
The reason why we chose hyperdot.net seems to be a bit of a mystery. The discussion about the choice of the domain name spanned across many grueling months in high school lunch sessions and even during classes. Some of the alternative names included: Moodyblue, among many outrageous others which we cannot remember.
Hyperdot has gone through many ups and downs, with its prime around mid-2003, when hits reached as high as 300 hits a day. This number was declined since its year-long hiatus which commenced April 2004. Hopefully, this fresh book will bring back all hyperdotters to interact, communicate and keep us connected just like old time's sake.

Since April 2005, Matt was web administrator and designer for www.hyperdot.net. Matt still can't forgive himself for losing the previous blog entries before the implementation of the new Hyperdot branding and design. He was very disappointed that three years of blogging memories was lost, just like that. Matt decided to rebrand Hyperdot by providing more convenient and hassle-free ways to stay in touch. In addition to the existing (but upgraded) Movable Type platform, Hyperdot implemented a new Hyperdot site aggregator, that displays the lastest entries of Hyperdot bloggers all on the same page. In addition, the Hyperdot rebranding strategy aimed to look for a consistant layout, design, and communication that makes users feel more at ease with the website. Two new logos have also been implemented to try to better communicate, and hopefully to better identify with existing users.
Matt feels like a big geek for applying what he learned in the "Intregrated Marketing Communications" unit in his WLU Marketing class for site implementation.
Another website renovation took place in April 2006, in order to bring back the content and visitors that made it so successful back in 2003. Newer tools such as placing CSS feeds from other Hyperdotters' blogs all on one page. While this was successful to some extent, while hyperdot.net was successful in providing this tool, it was not enough to bring about new content, which was seriously lacking on the hyperdot.net homepage. In the meantime, Matt and Emily will continue to sustain their respective home pages, and who knows, perhaps hyperdot.net will come back some time in the new future.
